Local-First App
PennyWise is designed to work in guest/local mode by default. You can use the main app without creating an account or signing in.
Google Sign-In is optional and is the only account sign-in method offered in the user-facing app.
Information Stored Locally
When you use PennyWise as a guest, finance data you enter is stored locally on your device. This may include:
- Expense, income, and loan entries
- Categories, notes, dates, budget values, and savings goals
- Local preferences such as currency or display settings
Optional Google Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may provide PennyWise with basic profile information such as your name, email address, and profile photo.
PennyWise does not collect, receive, or store your Google password. PennyWise does not offer email/password sign-up or email/password login.
How Data Is Used
- To show your dashboard, spending insights, budgets, goals, calculator, and other app features
- To support optional signed-in account features where available
- To maintain app functionality, reliability, and user preferences
Data Sharing
PennyWise does not sell your personal or financial data to advertisers or data brokers.
Optional account features may use Supabase authentication and database services. Google Sign-In is used only for optional identity authentication.
Your Choices
- You can use PennyWise without signing in.
- You can sign out and continue using the app in guest mode.
- You can delete local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app from your device.

Children
PennyWise is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where applicable.
